Best brisket I've had in Miami — the bark is real, the peach ribs are unreal, and Adrian was working the window when we showed up. Get the Tray for Two and the Nicaraguan slaw.

Daddy Barbecue
The place
Slab Daddy Barbecue is a Texas-Latin smokehouse at 795 NW 20th St in the Allapattah neighborhood of Miami, FL. Chef-owner Adrian Ricouz, who grew up in Allapattah, smokes brisket, peach-glazed spare ribs, pulled pork, and chicken wings from a food trailer parked on an outdoor lot with picnic tables. The kitchen pairs Carolina-leaning smoke with Latin sides — Nicaraguan coleslaw, Latin-style beans, and rice — reflecting Ricouz's Argentinian roots and the surrounding diaspora. The business operates as walk-up only with no reservations and is closed Monday and Tuesday; service runs Wednesday through Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. It originally launched as Tejano Barbecue and rebranded as Slab Daddy in December 2024. Takeout and delivery are available through Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Postmates. The patio is dog-friendly and family-welcoming.
Slab Daddy Barbecue lives in an unassuming Allapattah lot just north of Wynwood, where chef-owner Adrian Ricouz smokes brisket and ribs out of a trailer and serves them at picnic tables under string lights. The vibe is intentionally backyard-cookout — Ricouz works the line himself, regulars trade tips on which cuts are running low, and the soundtrack leans Miami. It is one of the few barbecue spots in the city where the smoke ring, the slaw, and the rice and beans all come from the same hands.
Order the brisket by the half-pound, the peach-glazed spare ribs, and a side of Nicaraguan coleslaw. Groups should split the Tray for Two — brisket, ribs, pulled pork, flour tortillas, slaw, and two sides — which doubles as a taco kit. Don't skip the green bean salad with mango and pistachio dressing, the mac and cheese, or the cornbread; the Latin-style beans are the move over standard pinto.
Reservations are not accepted — Slab Daddy is walk-up, first-come-first-served at the trailer window, and popular cuts can sell out before close. Street parking is available along NW 20th St and surrounding blocks. The outdoor patio is dog-friendly and family-welcoming. Takeout is offered on-site, and delivery is available through Uber Eats, DoorDash, and Postmates. The kitchen is closed Monday and Tuesday.
What to expect
Walk-up barbecue trailer on an open Allapattah lot with covered picnic tables, no reservations, and counter-style ordering. Expect a short wait at peak lunch and Sunday, casual service from the owner, and popular cuts (brisket, ribs) selling out before close on busy days. Cash and cards accepted; dogs welcome on the patio.

What people are saying
Worth the drive from Brickell. Picnic-table patio, dog came with us, and the green bean salad with mango pistachio dressing surprised me more than the meats. Cash or card, walk up only.
Texas smoke with a Latin spin — the Latin-style beans and tortillas turn this into a tacos-and-platter situation. Brisket sold out by 6 on a Saturday so come earlier.
